You can find my new Italian folktale “Ciccio and the Wood Sprite” in the July/August 2022 issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction*. This is my second story published in F&SF this year, which is a first for me.
My super-short 42-word story “Lost Soda Bottle Finds Love Way Out in Space” won the Science Fiction Story of Excellence Award in the 42 Stories Anthology. The editors announced the list of winners in each category on their site. This is the shortest story I’ve ever written. (Publication date sometime in 2023 or ’24.)
I volunteered to run the light board for a play at our local theater, the Multi-Use Community Cultural Center, affectionately known as “the MUCCC.” The show was titled The Unexpected Old, presented by the Geriactors. Up until this performance, I had zero experience running light boards, which shows you how desperate they were for a volunteer. I learned a lot and had fun. I’ve always loved the theater, but I’m terrified of acting, so this was a nice way for me to get involved.
